Welcome to the department of chemical Engineering
The Department of Chemical Engineering was established in 1963 with an undergraduate program in Chemical Engineering. The department currently runs undergraduate (B.Tech.), postgraduate (M.Tech.), and doctoral (Ph.D.) programs in Chemical Engineering. The department grew and set very high standards in teaching and cutting-edge research.
The department pursues research in the broad area of chemical engineering, such as liquid & solid waste management, green catalysis, sustainable energy, energy storage, microfluidics, rheology, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), theoretical and experimental fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, process design and intensification, process modeling & simulation, drug delivery, transport & separation processes, process safety, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), biochemical and bioprocess engineering, sustainable processing, circular economy, water treatment. Over the years, the department has supported the local chemical industries. In addition to the large number of sponsored research and industrial consultancy projects, the department runs a center of excellence (CoE) sponsored by the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers. Prof Shabina awarded a sponsored research project from Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) for 'R&D Cum Demonstration on the optimization of the performance of rotary kiln to maximize percentage metallization including use of natural gas/syngas as reductant'.
Our institute has transferred the technology developed by Prof P P Kundu for making biodegradable polybags to a Noida-based company M/S Agarsar Innovaties LLP.
